Editorial Policy

How PetSolia approaches sources, product claims, illustrative images, and corrections.

Last updated: October 16, 2026

A useful pet-product article should explain a decision. PetSolia's editorial standard is to describe the features that change fit, use, cleaning, or ownership, and to make the limits of general advice clear.

Product guidance and its limits

Our guides discuss product categories and design choices. They are not reviews of specific purchased samples unless a page explicitly states and documents such a review. The launch library contains no claimed hands-on tests, personal success stories, numerical ratings, or invented professional bylines. We do not publish a named author's experience when there is no such experience to report.

Product-selection examples are explanatory scenarios. A hypothetical household or measurement illustrates how a choice might work; it is not a customer testimonial. Descriptions of generic materials do not certify every item made from those materials. Seams, coatings, manufacturing quality, and the animal's behaviour can change the outcome.

References and product claims

Where a guide uses external guidance, it links to the relevant source. We prefer primary information from animal-welfare organizations, veterinary organizations, regulators, and the manufacturer responsible for a specific product specification. A source link supports the associated point; it does not mean the source reviewed or endorsed PetSolia.

We avoid unsupported promises such as “escape-proof,” “indestructible,” “prevents disease,” or “safe for every pet.” Crash testing, electrical ratings, food-contact suitability, weight limits, and airline acceptance require evidence for the exact model and use. Owners should confirm the current specification before purchasing.

Commercial relationships

The current site is a free informational library with no shop, advertising network, affiliate purchase links, or sponsored rankings. Mentioning a general product type is not a paid placement. Any future commercial material should be identified on the page where it appears and reflected in the site's disclosures before it is introduced.

Content and image production

AI tools assist the drafting and editing of this library. Content checks address article coverage, word counts, repeated passages, page generation, and internal link integrity. Those checks support publication quality but are not a substitute for expert assessment of an individual animal or independent testing of a product.

Lifestyle images are AI-generated depictions of unbranded categories. Product drawings are schematic, not engineering drawings. Both help readers recognize the subject and should not be used to infer a product's exact dimensions, certifications, or performance.

When a product guide is not enough

Changes in eating, drinking, toileting, mobility, breathing, skin condition, or behaviour may need professional attention. A new bowl, bed, brush, or toy is not a diagnosis or treatment. For individual health concerns, ask a veterinarian. For an emergency, contact a veterinary service directly rather than the PetSolia mailbox.

Corrections and updates

To report an issue, email SmithNicole6916@outlook.com with the guide URL, the passage in question, and your suggested correction. A relevant primary reference helps us assess factual changes. We also welcome accessibility and broken-link reports.

The library does not label articles “recently tested” or display invented review dates. A policy date indicates when that policy was prepared or changed, not when a product was assessed. The complete contents can be browsed from the guide library.
